With a degree in Photography from the Portuguese Institute of Photography in Porto, until today, Mafalda develops big part of her work in production, communication and development of educational programs within the scope of Photography and Visual Arts festivals - Encontros da Imagem, in Braga (Portugal) and Fotofestiwal, in Lodz (Poland). Collaborated also with Porto / Post / Doc: Film & Media Festival and Curtas Vila do Conde - International Film Festival. At the same time, was involved in analog photography laboratory projects and educational programs for Silverlab, a laboratory in Porto, and Passos Audiovisuais Associação Cultural, in Braga.
More recently, she was part of the team responsible for the curatorial project “AEIOU: Os Espacialistas em Pro (ex) cesso”, developed for the Colégio das Artes, University of Coimbra. Currently attends the second year of the Master's Degree in Curatorial Studies at the same University, while participates in projects related to Arquipélago - Center for Contemporary Arts, on the island of São Miguel (Azores).
Mafalda also collaborates with Umbigo — an independent platform of contemporary art and culture; while dedicates herself to photography in a professional format or in the spontaneous form of personal projects.
