Arriving in Ithaca

We will be most happy to welcome you to our Return2Ithaca Residency!

To get to Ithaca we suggest the following options:

From Athens Airport to Ithaca:

First option (through Patra, many departing times): 

Athens Airport -> Kifissos KTEL Bus Station -> Patra -> Ithaca

On arriving to Athens Airport:

1st. Bus from the airport to Kifissos KTEL Bus Station. 

You may buy your tickets at the ticket booth at your right on exiting the airport. The bus is the X93, the rate is 6€ per person approx. This is the bus route connecting Athens Airport to the Intercity Bus Station. The route takes approximately 65 minutes and buses depart from the airport 24/7 every 40-50 minutes.

2nd. Bus from Kifissos KTEL Bus Station to Patra. The bus from Kifissos KTEL to Patras takes 3h 30m including transfers and departs hourly. The rate is 19€ per person approx. It is better if you buy the tickets beforehand, at:  Ktel Achaias

3rd. Patra to Ithaka. Depending on your arrival time to Patra, you may need to sleep overnight or come directly. The ferry (very near the bus station) to Ithaki-Pisaetos leaves Patra at 13:30 and arrives at Ithaki-Pisaetos at 17:30 approx. The rate is 16€ approx. Second option (direct bus & ferry leaving at 10:00): 

Athens Airport /anywhere in Athens-> Kifissos KTEL Bus Station -> Kefalonia -> Ithaca

1st. Arrival at Kifissos KTEL Bus Station. 

(If you are coming from Athens Airport: You may buy your tickets at the ticket booth at your right on exiting the airport. The bus is the X93, the rate is 6€ per person approx. This is the bus route connecting Athens Airport to the Intercity Bus Station. The route takes approximately 65 minutes and buses depart from the airport 24/7 every 40-50 minutes.)

2nd. Bus from Kifissos KTEL Bus Station to Sami (Kefalonia) and to Pisaetos (Ithaka). The bus leaving Kfissos to Ithaka, on arriving at Patras, goes inside the ferry. Once inside the ferry, you must leave the bus, take all your belongings with you, and take a seat in the ferry. Buy your tickets beforehand through: Bus Kefalonias - Online Ticket Reservation The itinerary that you are looking for is ATHENS (BUS STATION) to ITHAKA. The rate is 18€ approx. The bus leaves Athens Kifissos Bus Station at 10:00, arriving by ferry at Ithaca at 17:15 (there is a 15-minute wait at SAMI in the ferry before departing to Ithaca). 

From Kefallinia Airport to Ithaca:

1st. AIRPORT(KEFALONIA) to BUS STATION ARGOSTOLI(KEFALONIA). Taxi.

2nd. Bus from ARGOSTOLI(KEFALONIA) Bus Station to SAMI(KEFALONIA) to get the ferry from Sami port. It is better if you buy the tickets beforehand, at: Bus Kefalonias - Online Ticket Reservation

The fare is around 4€ and you have many departing times.

3rd. Kefalonia-Sami to Ithaka-Pisaetos. The ferry from Kefalonia-Sami to Ithaki-Pisaetos leaves at 16:45 and arrives at Ithaki-Pisaetos at 17:30 approx. The rate is 3€ approx. To buy your tickets: Ferry Tickets Online Reservation
