Rocio Bueno

Visual artist, photographer, and economist. She holds an International Master's degree in Photography and Project Management (2018–2019). Expert in Visual Arts, Photography, and Creative Projects from the Miguel Hernández University (UMH) (2019). Currently in fourth year of Art History at the National University of Distance Education (Spain) and expanding her knowledge by studying renowned contemporary artists. Part of the How to Be a Photographer platform and the Women in the Visual Arts association. Her exhibition career includes numerous solo shows in Spain and across Europe, with highlights at venues such as the Centro de Creación Cárcel de Segovia, Espacio Mujer Madrid, Sala Maruja Mallo, the Olot Photography Biennial, Encontros de Imagem (Braga), Baffest, the Royal Photographic Society of Spain, the Soler Blasco Museum, the Tomás y Valiente Art Center, and festivals including PhotoAlaquàs, Estampa, Hybrid, and Librarte. Her projects Hilo, Renascence, Ellas, nosotras, Ancestras, and Mujeres que importan have been presented between 2019 and 2025 at more than thirty venues. In the collective sphere, since 2017 she has participated in exhibitions at institutions such as Matadero Madrid, the Huete Museum of Photography, the Alcobendas Art Center, Galileo Cultural Center, the Biennial of Women in the Visual Arts, the Valparaíso International Photography Festival, the Andalusian Center of Photography, and Sala Amárica. She has also taken part in PhotoEspaña 2025, Les Rencontres d’Arles (Off), Athenas and Photometria Festivals, and Africa FotoFair. Her work has received numerous recognitions, including awards and finalist selections at Festival Baffest, the International Photography Awards, Tokyo International Foto Awards, Transeurope, Mujeres Mirando Mujeres, Encontros da Imagem, ArtPhoto BCN, PhotoEspaña, Luminic Festival, Photometria, and the Castilla y León Artist’s Book Fair. She has published photobooks and collective works such as Hilo—included in the MoMA artist book collection—Renascence, Tú, yo, ellas, nosotras, Ancestras-Maestras, and has also participated in collaborative publishing projects.
