Katerina Tsakiri was born in Athens in 1991 and currently lives in Gothenburg, Sweden. She studied Photography and Audiovisual Arts in Athens and has a MFA on Photography from HDK-Valand of Gothenburg’s University.
She is a photographer and Visual artist that works mainly with self-portraiture.
The core of her work is autobiographical and explores the female identity within the social structures of Western Society.
At her latest photographic series she used documentary photography to share the journey of her breast cancer treatment and unravel the emotional world she entered through the deconstruction of her body and her identity as a woman.
