Ioustini Drakoulakou was born in Thessaloniki, Greece where she currently lives and works as freelance artist. She is a member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece (EETE) & of the International Association of Art (IAA) and holds a Master's degree in Photography: The Image and Electronic Arts from Goldsmiths College, University of London (Distinction) and a Master of Science in Applied & Environmental Geology from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Merit).
As a freelance artist, she has collaborated with renowned artists photographers such as with Lia Nalbantidou, serving as her photography & lighting assistant for Christian Dior Couture: Dior Chez Moi collection - Lia Nalbantidou, Dior Magazine #36 - Captivating Visions (Athens, 2021) & supporting mainly the creative direction of the social media presence for her Initiative “Lia Nalbantidou & L.Loves Art Books”.
She has worked as the teaching assistant for the photography classes of the artist photographer Christina Dimitriadis (2021 & 2022) at the International Summer Academy of Fine Arts in Salzburg.
Drakoulakou has exhibited her work in solo exhibitions, including "Studies on Transformation" at Gallerie Mikrou (Thessaloniki, 2023) and "Losing Turquoise" at the Ionion Center for the Arts & Culture (Kefalonia, 2022), and has participated in several group exhibitions in Greece and internationally.
In 2020, the work “Resilience as a makeshift herbarium or e.g. how to teach a pine tree” Drakoulakou in collaboration with Lia Nalbantidou received a research grant from the Greek Ministry of Culture and Sports.
